Who stole my taro? ( 100 book challenge)

Hello reader, for my school holidays my teacher has assigned me a reading challenge, called ✨ 100 Book Challenge ✨. Meaning I have to try and read a 100 books during the holidays, and whoever will finish this challenge will get a prize.

So far, I’ve read 13 books. Out of the 13 books I have read, I chose to blog about  the book called “WHO STOLE MY TARO?” Words by David Riley and pictures by Chad Robertson.

This book explains where Taro comes from in Samoa.      The book starts off with a chief named Losi, getting tired of eating “Fish, bananas and pineapple”, so his mates told him to visit “Tagaloa”.  So soon, Losi when to Tagaloa’s realm. Tagaloa’s realm was filled with amazing juice fruit and vegetables.  Losi pulled a plant out of the ground and hid it inside his waist cloth. Just then Tagaloa’s servants came chasing after Losi, saying “Taro belongs to Tagaloa, he needs it for his taro chips”. Back in the village Losi told his friends about what had happened and that he wanted revenge. Later in the night, Losi and his mates went back to Tagaloa’s realm and placed dead stingrays in the doorway of the servant’s house. Early in the morning, the servants woke-up and slipped on the stingrays. “Losi and his friends did this” said one. So the two servants decided to invite Losi and his mates, to an eating contest to get back at them.  The servants prepared a huge feast for Losi and his friends, it was in the text that there was enough to feed the whole of Samoa… . Losi and his friends HAD to eat all the food our else they would become the servants slaves… forever. Unfortunately for Tagaloa’s servants Losi had a friend, whose talent was super-eating. He ate the food, the baskets and the house too. While this was occurring, Losi and his friends sprinted through Tagaloa’s garden and grabbed all sorts of plants.

My Favourite part of the book, is when Losi’s friend ate up the baskets and the house.  While my least favourite part Losi and his friends placed dead stingrays in the servants doorway, because they could have done a better revenge.

Thank you all for reading my blog post. I will blog about another book soon. Have a nice Day / Night. Don’t forget to leave comment in the comment section.
